2018 Enchantress year: Who is the Enchantress?
We have entered an Enchantress year for the Womb Blessing Community. But who is the Enchantress - and how will her energies affect us?
The Enchantress energies are those of the darkening Moon, making us focus on what we can touch and feel rather than what we can see and think. She is the quickly changing energies of autumn, where the leaves change colour and fall from the trees in the stormy winds. She brings change to our lives, sometimes gentle and sometimes with force. The Enchantress is also the swirling currents of the out-going tide and the dancing waves. She is the emptying force that creates new space in our lives so that we have room to grow in the future.
The Enchantress is often depicted as frightening and destructive. We embody her in our pre-menstrual phase, and this can be a very difficult time of physical change and emotional and mental disturbance. But the changes the Enchantress brings always come from love. She sees the things within us that need emptying, releasing, changing and transforming. If we flow with the changes, then we are the dancing leaf on the wind or on the tidal waves. If we fight to stay still or block the tide, then we feel her full strength against us.
So it is better to flow, to relax, to follow the wind and waves, and willingly take the first steps into the darkness.
