The University of Cambridge has published a global review of 48 studies that has found that more than 60 million people in the EU are affected by anxiety disorders, with women and young people affected the most.
Whilst they estimate that four out of every hundred people are affected by anxiety, the review said much more research was required, particularly to ascertain the risk to other communities.
Research on Anxiety is woefully inadequate, hence our launch of the Katharine and Harold Fisher Research Fund, and so Anxiety UK welcome this review and the attention it brings to anxiety disorders.
Anxiety UK are available for comment, queries and interviews regarding this review and its findings.
